Need a sweet summery beverage?
I like to keep a refreshing drink that everyone can enjoy on hand. Sparkling Italian Lemonade is my quick go-to summer beverage. The key…close your eyes all connoisseurs of fine drinks
…microwave the sugar with a little water in the same glass that you serve the lemonade. It makes a perfect simple syrup and saves you time, not to mention fewer dishes. You only microwave the glass for 10 seconds. Because of this, the glass stays at room temperature until you add the ice. Once you try this recipe, you’ll be whipping up sparkling lemonade faster than you can drink it.
Sparkling Italian Lemonade
A recipe from The Offer
Yield: 1 serving Prep Time: 2 minutes Cook Time: 10 seconds
Ingredients:
2 tbsps. s ultra-fine pure cane sugar (baking sugar)*
Juice from 1 ½ lemons
1 cup S. Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water
Sprig of mint for garnish
Ice
Directions:
- Put 2 tablespoons of baking sugar in a glass cup.** Add 2 tablespoons of water and microwave for 10 seconds.
- Stir the simple syrup with a straw until all sugar is dissolved. Juice 1 ½ medium sized lemons over a mesh strainer into the glass and mix with the straw.
- Fill the glass with ice and add one cup of Pellegrino Sparkling Water. Give it one final stir and serve with a sprig of mint if you have it on hand.
Tips:
*It’s important to use ultra-fine pure cane sugar in this recipe. You can find it in the baking section of the grocery store. I’ll be using this sugar in a later recipe for my all-time favorite chocolate cupcakes.
** I like sparkling lemonade a little tart. If you prefer it sweeter, add 2 more teaspoons of baking sugar and 1 more tablespoon of water before microwaving. Each teaspoon of baking sugar has 15 calories.
I love this! Can’t wait to try it! 🙂
