Happy Sunday blogging family,
I was feeling a little tired as fall came into fruition this year. I don’t know why…perhaps too many pumpkin lattes and sweets. So, on the mornings that I run, I began drinking lemon cayenne water. I loved the kick of energy. It’s like sunshine in a glass!
Inspired by the sunny mornings in Capri, citrusy scent of lemons in Italy and a hint of pepper that gives it a kick, this lemon cayenne water is just what you need to curb temptations during the holiday season.
Lemon Cayenne Water

Yield: 1 Drink Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 24 oz. tumbler
-
Juice of 2 medium sized lemons (1 1/2 lemons if you want it to be less tart)
-
1 tsp of organic maple syrup
-
Dash of cayenne pepper to taste*
-
Ice
-
Filtered water
Directions:
Add the lemon juice, maple syrup, and a dash of cayenne pepper to tumbler. Stir. Fill with ice and water. Stir again and enjoy!
Tips:
* Cayenne has capsaicin that is said to alleviate pain, boost metabolism, aid in digestion, reduce blood pressure, and is packed with antioxidants. I’m going to test this theory for the next few months to see if it is true. I’ll keep you posted.
Happy Sunday, I agree the extra hour of sleep was just what I needed! Lovely drink and great post as usual 🙂
