RECHARGE AFTER THE HOLIDAYS
Today I wanted to share one of my favorite juices. This grapefruit juice gets a sharp kick from the ginger. It’s packed with vitamin C, Beta-carotene and folic acid to boost energy. For me, the juice is also a perfect post-holiday beverage to get back on track with healthy meals.
GRAPEFRUIT ZING
Yield: 2-3 servings Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
4 grapefruits, peeled and sliced
2 apples, wedged
2 carrots, washed and tops removed
2 sticks of celery, washed
1-inch piece of ginger, peeled
If you have a juicer, add the ingredients and juice away!*
Directions if using a blender:
1. Grate the ginger, and combine the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Add a 1/2 cup of water and blend until smooth.
2. Place a fine-mesh sieve over a wide-mouth Mason jar or bowl. Slowly pour the blended juice over the sieve. Use the back of a spoon to push through any remaining juice. Compost or discard the pulp and enjoy!
Juicing Tip:
* When selecting fruit to juice, in this case, grapefruits and apples, chose the fruit that looks almost ripe (a little on the hard side). It yields for the freshest taste and maximum amount of juice from your juicer.
This definitely sounds ‘zingy’ and I’m sure that certainly wakes you up ready for a magical day! x

I’ve been looking for some new juice recipes – good share. Not in love with celery – but I’ll give it a try.

Hi. I’ll be posting more juices throughout December. You can leave the celery out. I have before and it still tastes fantastic. 🙂
